LOCATION: KAMPALA, CENTRAL UGANDA

The project comprises of a divided 4-lane 19km new road with over 12 km of road traversing through swamps and elevated on a viaduct and allows connection to junctions through 4 interchanges and Roads over Bridges for links and expected partly to be fenced to allow limited access with lighting and provisions for toll plazas if the choice to toll is adopted.
Services included:
- Excavation up to 2m, auger boring up to 6m and logging of 19 trial pits and in-situ soil strength testing (DCP) in non-swamp locations and Mackintosh Probing to near refusal at 19 swamp locations.
- Identifying, sampling and laboratory testing of samples from potential road construction material sources.
- Core drilling and logging of 19 boreholes to depths between 15 and 35 meters, in-situ soil strength testing (SPT), recovery of both disturbed and undisturbed soil and rock core samples and laboratory testing of the recovered samples for the proposed bridge locations along the project.
- Installation of piezometers for ground water level monitoring.
- Preparation of a Factual Ground Investigations Report.
